Food Outing

Leo took me on an outing that I am still thinking about. First, we went to OINKSTERS.
This restaurant was on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on the Food network. We shared a pork sandwich and a pastrami sandwich with Belgium french fries. Absolutley the best pork and fries. Next, we went to an authentic Italian Bakery. Yummmm, picked up desserts and garlic bread. Next, we went to Galkos. A vintage candy and pop market.
We picked up Sasparillo, orange cream soda etc.... I must visit again. Today, I am back to whole wheat pita with cucumbers, sushi, tuna salad, egg whites and drinking my vegis.

Fatal Attraction or Territorial?

Segulls are seeing a reflection of themselves in the windows of my boat. They are hitting my windows with their beeks, drooling all over my windows, which is drying and looking quite bad. Not to mention how anoying it is. I just found out this happens in spring and summer. It could be for a couple of reasons. #1: They are attracted to the bird in the relection, not realizing it is their own reflection. #2: They are being territorial, and attacking the reflection. I have lived on my boat for 6 years, and this is the first year this is happening. ALL DAY. In any case, I don't care what the reason is, I am tempted to sprinkle chili powder on my windows to rid them. I have a cat that is extremley vocal and now birds that won't stop attacking my windows, sea lions barking and lying on the dock, star fish on the rocks...I need more human contact...

"I TELL YA"...

If not for Leo, my bilge pump would probably still not be working. He tackles my boat issues with a sense of urgency. I could not express my appreciation for this man enough. I tell ya, he is a rare breed. And I'll tell ya some more, I had to cut our Sunday off short because I am at work. Yes, work on a Sunday. He didn't complain. Our schedules are busy, and we usally just spend one night out of the week together (Saturday nite). We make the most of it, good meals, good conversation, lots of laughs!! May 17th will be 2 years together. 2 very good years, (not counting my mood swings). We are hearts on fire :)

8 Days a week

I need an extra day in the week. There is so much to plan and get done on my boat. I still have the leak, but more important is that my bilge pumps don't work. I can live with a leak, but not with pumps that don't work. I painted the "head", I then had the bright idea to remove the mirrors on the cabinet faces. A new glass tile backsplash is in my plans for the "galley". Then...painting the HULL. I am going to do it myself with the help of a dock mate. New outdoor cushions, then, voila....I still have an old boat.(sigh). I found out recently that the new marina is full over capacity for live-aboards, with over 200 on a waiting list for any kind of slip. Looks like I may become a "landlubber" again.

Can you say TSUNAMI?

We had a Tsunami warning this weekend. Our tide was out so low that the dock was sitting on the rocks. The only fatalities was probably 2 starfish. Other than that it was pretty calm. It was amazing to see the currents in the water. The tide came in pretty fast.
My bilge is another story. Lots of water. Hopefully from the rain. I will check it again soon.

Row, Row, Row your boat...

That's exactly what I might be doing if the rains don't stop. My engine room bilge pump does not work and (with help) I manually bailed out 156 gallons of water! The water seeped through the bulk heads to the bow-bilge. That was last weekend. I will see what happens this weekend since it is suppose to rain tomorrow.
